Let’s be honest, whether you were already working from home pre-corona or experienced the shift this year itself, we are all seeking answers to this question in 2020.
The question, however, isn’t how to work from home, because we have a fair idea by now, however, the question remains, how can we ‘maximize’ productivity when working from home, maximize being the operative word here.
All roads, in fact, lead to discipline, you can read several self-help books to reach that optimal level of productivity but if you lack discipline none of the points mentioned below would help.

Hence, listing some easy and useful tactics to improve your productivity throughout the day.
Plan the day, the previous night
This godforsaken(pardon my french) year is jam-packed with enough shocking surprises and we couldn’t do it with less distraction throughout the day. Therefore, it would be a useful habit to develop, if you can plan your day the previous just before going to bed. You’ll be prepared and in a better position to schedule all your work.
Have a grand rising
Morning is when you wake up, so whatever time that maybe, meditate, journal, jog, have your cup of coffee/tea and spend some time with yourself. Julia Cameron, author of the monumental book called ‘The artist’s way’ introduces us to Mourning/Morning pages, a widely popular technique which provokes, clarify, comfort, cajole, prioritize and synchronize the day at hand. Do not overthink Morning Pages: just put three pages of anything on the page…and then do three more pages tomorrow.
The 3-Item to-do list
In this hyper-productive times, we may get overwhelmed with all our tasks and the 3-Item to-do list helps us to streamline and prioritize our thoughts and instead of feeling a sense of guilt for all the unfinished tasks, we end of up feeling a sense of accomplishment for all the reality that we may complete throughout the day.
Spend time outdoors
Whether it’s just sitting and watching the sunset from your balcony or following a strict physical fitness regime, allow yourself to immerse yourself in nature. Spending time in nature significantly helps us decrease our stress levels as well as boost positivity and spark inspiration.
Have at least one good meal
You are what you eat, they say, so prepare yourself at least one good meal in the day whichever meals suit you best. Nourish your body well with nutritious food and sufficient rest for a stable and healthy mindset. It will help you give your brain active and is bound to show better results in the long run.
Of course, no one expects you to adopt all the above-mentioned pointers at once and become a taskmaster overnight. It takes time to develop healthy habits so give yourself permission and allow yourself to fully experience and explore and see which one works best for you!
